Summary of Content Changes
Prince Edward Island
- Effective July 1, 2026, the Government of Prince Edward Island has eliminated the residential electricity HST rebate, which applied to the first 2,000 kWh on the provincial portion of the HST. The full HST rate is now charged.
Saskatchewan
- Effective August 1, 2026, Saskatchewan's Sask911 fee has increased from $2.17 to $2.22.
Alabama
- Effective August 1, 2026, the city sales and use tax rate in Rogersville has increased to 3% for most rate variants. The grocery rate remains at 2%.
- This month, we have updated our geography for the state of Alabama. As part of this work, we have also completed a comprehensive re-evaluation of many of our rates, especially for Police Jurisdictions throughout the state. Our rate report contains the details of these changes.
Arizona
- Effective August 1, 2026, the city Transaction Privilege Tax rate in Huachuca City has increased to 2.9% for almost all classifications. The Food for Home Consumption classification's rate remains at 1.9%.
- Effective July 1, 2026, Arizona's annual residential utility assessment and annual regulatory utility assessment have both increased.
Illinois
- Effective August 1, 2026, the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) sales tax has increased by 0.25% in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties. This change is a result of SB 2111 of 2026, which authorized the RTA to vote to enact this increase.
- Effective August 1, 2026, the city electricity excise tax in Fox River Grove has decreased across all tiers. Please review our rate change report for the specific tier amounts.
Kansas
- Effective July 1, 2026, the Kansas Citizens Utility Ratepayer Board (CURB) quarterly assessment fee has increased and the Corporation Commission (KCC) quarterly assessment fee has decreased. These changes apply to both telecommunications and energy. The precise values of these changes are contained in our rate change report.
Louisiana
- This month, we received updated information from Calcasieu Parish that the previous exemption for food for home consumption is no longer in effect. As a result, we have expired the negative rates that facilitated this exemption in our data.
- Effective August 1, 2026, the 911 wireless fee has increased from $1.25 to $2.00 in Caddo Parish, East Carroll Parish, Grant Parish, and Orleans Parish. These changes are due to HB 463 of 2026, which increased the maximum permissible local 911 fee on wireless from $1.25 to $2.00.
- We have received updated information about several of East Feliciana Parish's 911 fees. Specifically, the fees for business lines have increased from $2.00 to $15.30, and the fees for residential lines have increased from $1.06 to $2.35.
Maine
- Effective July 1, 2026, Maine's annual Public Advocate Office assessment has increased for telecommunications and decreased for electricity and natural gas. The exact values of these changes are in our rate change report.
Nebraska
- Effective July 1, 2026, the Nebraska Power Review Board assessment has increased. The exact new rate is in our rate change report. This rate has increased significantly due to a serious need for more funding and a more sympathetic state Budget Office.
New York
- Effective July 1, 2026, the New York Targeted Accessibility Fund (TAF) rate has decreased. The details of this change are in our rate change report.
Tennessee
- Effective August 1, 2026, the city of Portland has enacted a city sales and use tax at a rate of 0.5% for the portion of the city within Sumner County. This brings the total local rate in Portland in Sumner County to 2.75%. The total local rate within the portion of Portland in Robertson County is already 2.75%, since the Robertson County rate is 2.75%.
